Ironic, because our taps here in the South Peninsula have been bone dry since yesterday evening.

Apparently a main water pipe in Constantia that is under repair with a minimum eta of 12hrs. Will have to go and scoop some water from a pothole and boil the fsck out of it. "The city that works for you..."

The whole southern suburbs pipes need to be replaced and have reached end of life.
There is a pipebreak every other week that side

Yeah. I mostly play videos with the sound muted, but the "familie" wanted to hear the audio. It is a general comment though about so many of these videos.

Maybe and maybe not. We had more again today and 32 mm overnight. So, weather experts may claim it is drying up for a few hours. I on the other hand think we are in for more as the cold fronts are popping up without much effort. The latest one appears to have just grazed the coast. The next one appears to be more of the same as last week's cold fronts.

I haven't found winter that cold yet. Been above 10° in the mornings. Probably is due to start dropping.

We had at least one morning that was really cold, it was 7.5 outside around 5 to 7am before the sunrise. Think that was Monday or Tuesday /yesterday this week. Because the max was only 14 or so yesterday, last night felt cold too but this morning wasnt too bad.

Anyway, your point stand, on average this winter wasn't too cold yet. Maybe it's still coming.

yip, once the sun is out the snow melts, that's when the cold starts. brrr
 
The CoCT reports that Theewaterskloof is 100% full this morning (Wed 21st). The average dam level is 'only' 93.9%, since Voelvlei has some way to go at 64.5%. Dams in parts of the Karoo and PE/NMBay are still in need of rain, but fall outside the scope of this thread.

Long term forecasts show the potential development of a cutoff low around Tues 27th (6-8 days ahead). Details will only become clear much closer to the time.
