Rain and storm for Cpt

What was extremely amusing again today is the "accuracy" of the "accuweather app". The prediction for Brackenfell has been consistently showing "no precipitation for the next 60 minutes". Meanwhile outside the sky has been falling down with so much rain at times that cars were pulling off the road on Brackenfell Boulevard.

The default Android App? The temperatures are OK, but the rainfall figures seem to be hopeless. yr.no is better in many ways.

Ja, but that "app" is e/imbedded on my phone and no matter what I do, it keeps coming back to haunt me. Can't get rid of the piece of junk.

The default App is called something like Time and Weather. You can only delete both, not separately, nor customise the weather portion.

My father runs his own little weather station. This is the rainfall numbers at his home vs the regional average. Its the highest rainfall numbers for the first 6 months of the year in CPT since 1976. (47 years)

I was hoping to use my new pole saw to prune some high branches tomorrow.Looks like that's out the window.

Interesting. However rainfall and cold are not correlated. The heaviest rain falls when it is mild. Very cold weather is usually dry.
 
Had some good rain almost all the way from Gansbaai to the northern suburbs this afternoon - coming over Sir Lowry's Pass, I swear the wind made it rain from the bottom :ROFL:

Another 23mm in our gauge this morning (Sat 8th). Clearer now, but cool with isolated showers. More rain likely later, and snow over the SW-Cape mountains as the temperatures drop later.

P.S. The timing for low-level snow from this event is not optimum for the SW-Cape.

A chart valid for the entire country for an entire 24 hour period, when the cold front is moving rapidly eastwards, is not super useful IMO. And showing rainfall as percentages makes no sense...

You may as well post the 3 day snow chart, which shows amounts (mm rain and cm snow).
