yeah the snow forcast has moderated quite a bit.Another 23mm in our gauge this morning (Sat 8th). Clearer now, but cool with isolated showers. More rain likely later, and snow over the SW-Cape mountains as the temperatures drop later.
P.S. The timing for low-level snow from this event is not optimum for the SW-Cape.

not much snow in Ceres.
there is more falling near De Toits peak and tunnel mountains.
Also a new cold front to watch on 15/16th - long forcast showing snow again, but likely warm up.
Quite a bit odd these short 10 minute spells of gale force winds and rain fall followed by 20 minutes of sunshine and no wind..
Exactly what you expect from a cold upper trough:A squall is a sudden, sharp increase in wind speed lasting minutes, as opposed to a wind gust, which lasts for only seconds. They are usually associated with active weather, such as rain showers, thunderstorms, or heavy snow.
They usually occur in a region of strong sinking air or cooling in the mid-atmosphere.
The Snow Report FB pics of the snow around Stellenbosch area are hectic![]()
Is it safe to flush the toilet yet?

Or the wife's stick blender. As long as it's small enough to get down with one flush, otherwise use a coat hanger first.
