As long as it's small enough to get down with one flush, otherwise use a coat hanger first.
I use one of these

There might be rain this weekend.
Hope not, Im hiking up India Venster again and it can be dangerous when the rocks are wet

Half of the forecasts show rain on Saturday, the other half show rain on Sunday. Guess we will have to wait to find out...
Yeah my hike up is on Saturday
I see tomorrows forecast on Table Mountain minimum is -1 :cautious:

Aircons use far less energy than resistive heaters.

The cold weather over the past few days has not helped at all.
How so? My IR heater uses 800W. :P Aircons use more energy when heating than when cooling afaik but are very efficient for the energy they do use.

Just put another jersey on
Free
I wear 2 jerseys this week
And last week
Still plenty units on my meter left for the month

Anyways, back to topic I see there is much less prediction today for rain this weekend in Cape Town

I had a kill-a-watt measuring the aircon in my kids room. To give you an idea, it was on for about 10h overnight, and used 1.3 kWh. The power goes up and down but that averages to about 130W. Kept the room at a nice 21C.

AFAIK they're slightly more efficient cooling than heating but it depends on the model. The datasheet from my Daikins shows only a few percent difference, not orders of magnitude. It's about 3.5 to 4 kW of heating for every actual kW used due to the heat-pump.

Ah, inverter type? Door closed? Must have good insulation.
Yes, room door closed. Insulation could be better but it's passable. It's not a tiny room but not super large either, about 12 m^2.

I have this one:

I've noticed that the power consumption depends on the outside conditions as well, sometimes it's nearly 2 kWh over the same time period.
