This particular model run shows a maximum of 11C on Sat 29th, followed by a minimum of -1C (maximum 13C) on Sun 30th. This seems an extreme value, and is a number that I have not experienced in many decades of living in CT. Further model runs will be interesting to follow...

Some smart-alecks told us that Winter only lasts for 3 months. This year we have already had 4 month's of winter, and it's only mid-July...

P.S. Parts of the Northern Hemisphere seem to be having exactly the opposite problem this year...

I wouldn't have been bothered, but having to return to work now, is a pain in the mornings.

Although this is a really cold winter indeed, where you can actually feel that chill.

A different model shows snow on Table Mountain overnight on Fri 28th into Sat 29th:

Translation: There is very high uncertainty in the models at such long durations, and it is best to wait a day or two for further clarification, but the potential exists for another significant severe weather event next weekend.

Where do you get 4 months? We're mid-way through July, it's about a month and a half.

May this year could hardly have been described as winter.

He is likely referring to average temp and rainfall over the last 4 months which has been very much winter like, a lot earlier in the year than usual...
