Rain and storm for Cpt

As predicted, rainfall distribution around Cape Town was very patchy last night. The main benefit was the substantially cooler conditions!

In Kenilworth we recevied 6.5mm, most of which fell between 8-9pm.

The SAEON Constantiaberg station recorded 24mm up to midnight, and dry thereafter.

The SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) station recorded 17.5mm up to midnight, and approximately the same amount thereafter.

Despite the moderately good rainfall over the mountain catchments, I do not expect any significant inflows into the dams, mostly due to the very low soil moisture content.

The next rain for the Western Cape is a band of scattered thundershowers on Mon 12th and Tues 13th, some of which may (or may not) reach Cape Town itself. It will be very warm and humid during this period.

cheers for that Gordon_R, glad to hear the catchment areas received got some, at this point I am happy with any rain :-)
