Better not rain this weekend with the Stellies Airshow

No offense, but the Stellies airshow is a snooze fest. It has nothing on the AAD Airshow they always host in Pretoria. Now that's a proper airshow. Why can't we get decent airshows in CPT?

The predicted cutoff-low is developing far offshore, and will have minimal effects on Cape Town itself. There will be very heavy rain in the center of the system, and also some showers over the interior of the Western and Northern Cape:

The weather for Cape Town over the Easter Weekend (Fri 29th to Mon 1st) will be a bit of a yo-yo (as is often the case). Very warm temperatures (30-35C) are expected on Sat 30th, followed by cooler and rain conditions on Sun 31st and Mon 1st, as a powerful frontal system brushes the coast, spreading eastwards on Tues 2nd.

Highest include Kirstenbosch 5mm, Molteno Reservoir (CBD) 5mm, Porterville 4mm, Franschhoek 3mm, etc.

The SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek mountain catchment) station reported 9mm up to midnight, with a little bit early this morning.

The next (light) rain event is likely on Fri 5th.

No offense, but the Stellies airshow is a snooze fest. It has nothing on the AAD Airshow they always host in Pretoria. Now that's a proper airshow. Why can't we get decent airshows in CPT?

Yes, I was a bit disappointed in the show. The AAD is more military oriented and Stellies airfield is only so big, although SAAF had a small stall there, but nothing to write to about.

The fact they didn't had a Sling there was a one of my biggest gripes and even some RV's, Foxbats, etc.

PRESCRIBED BURNING IN TABLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK DUE TO TAKE PLACE BELOW TAFELBERG ROAD

Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) Fire Management team will undertake a prescribed biodiversity burn of approximately 10 hectares below Tafelberg Road between the 2nd and 4th April 2024, in the area between the prescribed burn conducted last year in March 2023 and the fire experienced in early December 2023.

TMNP predicts that there will be no disruption to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway (TMACC) operations and visitors, but we would like to caution cyclists, hikers, and trail runners to remain off the trails below and on the contour path above Tafelberg Road during the burn, as we will have fire vehicles on these roads to reduce potential risk to people.

The TMNP fire management team plans to start burning around 4:00 a.m. between the 2nd and 4th of April 2024, under favourable weather conditions. Fire crews will remain on scene post-fire to ensure mopping up operations takes place until Fire Management deems

still remember it being done back in JHB on a small Hill not far from where I used to live.
