From 1020 to 997! That is the largest drop I have seen in a single day yet since I took up residence in Vredekloof. That's why it helps to have a synoptic chart (above), and an old fashioned barometer. The pressure on mine has been steadily dropping all day, which is a sure sign of a big storm coming. Some of the warnings may be slightly exaggerated, but this is likely to be the most intense cold-front we have had in the last year or two. Heavy rain will arrive between midnight and 5am on Sunday, with gale force winds, and heavy showers and snow later in the day.

but do see the warning 100% rain for the next week, is this how things work down here in the WC, calm before the storm kind of bull$hit?
