Rain and storm for Cpt

I do think people lately are soft- Schools were closed, and even some local businesses too. Yet some of us drove into work as per normal.

This was an average winter during my high school years and I had to cycle to school in this weather.. school never closed because of weather for us..

land of extremes CPT is turning out to be, will see how I cope, as I definitely didn't handle Snow, grey weather and cold very well, when I was overseas in Canada before.
I did handle the desert not too badly, so maybe I will be okay when its hot.

I wouldn't say it's extremes. Coming from JHB the only complaint I have is that CT is farking hot in summer, I really have a not-so-nice time. The first year I was here we were hammered with an epic heatwave in December and that wasn't nice at all.

And also WhatsApp and social media amplifies reports of what's happening, so it seems worse...but these things were commonplace back when TV, radio, and newspapers were the only ways of spreading such news.

How often has Woodbridge island been totally flooded, you can't get closer to a river than many of the houses there and they are in possibly the worst location being right at the river mouth?

Indeed. I'm old enough to remember typical Cape Town winters where we would have light rain for days on end, then clear up with a few sunny-ish cold days, followed by more rain. Board games, puzzles, and reading books under the covers - good times.

I took these two days ago when my wife went for her swim. Those are all surfers to the left. Mostly kids surfing Inner. Storms bring surf.
