Rain and storm for Cpt

Stellenbosch centre of town only 10mm so far today. Apart from a few gusts now and then this system is really a non-event here.

Was semi-dry for many hours in Kenilworth, but started bucketing down at 3:15.

It would have been fine to go to school in our area (my neighbour had the day off), but the exact timing of the wind and rain is hard to predict a whole day in advance.
I picked that exact time to quickly pop out and look for some mushrooms. Got properly drenched. Had been fairly nice up to then, though this morning at 4:30 we had some serious wind and rain off the Atlantic.

This was an average winter during my high school years and I had to cycle to school in this weather.. school never closed because of weather for us..
Absolutely right! I used to have to cycle from Bloubergstrand to Milnerton High, come rain, come sun come whatever. And schools never closed for BS!

now I know CPT is absolutely mad, when this kind of storm is considered standard weather,
what next, its baking hot 45 degrees and people are saying this is fine, totally normal. you'll get used to it.

yip, not mad enough to drive through these gigantic puddles,
unlike some others here who think I'm a raving lunatic (only when I see a free Palestine sticker) Lol.
Why didnt you come visit me? im in the next road lol, i drove through this at 6am, some people here say im a kak citizen cause i never bothered to tell the muncipality about the drains

Meanwhile, this is the drains in Epping :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Sounds like the Southern Suburbs got hit harder by last nights storm than us here in the north.

Todays weather was definitely not as bad as expected, normal rainy winters day, kids could have gone to school, Tuesday was much worst.

Yeah, yesterday was really not bad, today also. Both my kids were actually upset at not getting to go to school because they're bored at home.

You're going to absolutely love our summers. In a year or two you won't even flinch at 40 degrees anymore.

Anyone have a reputable source for current road closures? Trying to ascertain whether the Franschhoek pass and/or Helshoogte Road will be open this weekend. Hoping to go do some snow chasing in Mont Rochelle but don't want to drive all the way out there, only to find the road is closed.
