Bottelary hills looks proper wet from here, so I'm guessing you guys on the other side are having proper rain. We have drizzle this side. Super keen to go ride Bottelary hills tomorrow and get muddy.

Raining in the Southern Namib desert, I assume this is in relation to the rain down in the Cape....

The front passing over Cape Town was relatively small, but it is embedded in a much larger cold-core upper-trough, that currently extends up to the Namibia border.
Although the cutoff-low did not develop (as earlier hoped), large parts of SA will experience significantly cooler conditions during the weekend, as this trough passes over the country.
Heavy rain showers are also possible in places (minaly in Limpopo Province and E-Cape), where tropical moisture meets this upper instability.
The rain where I live in Kenilworth was rather disappointing, with 2.5mm up to 8am this morning. A few more showers are possible later today.
The falls in the Overberg region were likely to be higher, and over the mountains the orographic effects were significant. The SAEON Constantiaberg station recorded 20mm up to midnight (a little more this morning).
The SAEON Dwarsberg catchment site recorded 16.5mm, but due to low soil-moisture, very little runoff is expected into the dams.

Nothing for CT for next week. Friday 2nd shows light rain possible in the catchment areas for Theewaterskloof and Brandvlei. Very light and short duration.

Sounds promising. Yesterday up on Bottelary hills in the rain and cool clouds was magical. Maybe we can have the same next Saturday on the Argus MTB.

Talk about climate change. Southern Namib has apparently now moved down to Cape Town while you lot are evidently now residing in the tropics.
