No I don’t water in full sun.Do you water the plants and then leave water droplets on the leaves in peak heat?
Yeah, my small plants that are not in the shade are scorched. It's not a a water issue either. Never had this issue before.
Does anyone know what could be causing this, it’s not the heat in of itself because we have had plenty scorcher days in past years, it’s as if the UV levels have increased?Ditto. Even had to move indoor plants out of sun path.
Humidity too, it feels like...No I don’t water in full sun.

Maybe the species you have planted is a bit sensitive. I would not expect the indigenous species to have any significant leaf burnNo I don’t water in full sun.

Yes I noticed that as well, we've had a few smoking heat days with little wind and by the end of the day it gets horribly muggy.Humidity too, it feels like...
They are perhaps a bit sun sensitive but the point is the same plants in the same position were perfectly fine in past years summers, something has changed this year.Maybe the species you have planted is a bit sensitive. I would not expect the indigenous species to have any significant leaf burn
Has anyone else noticed that the sun has been particularly harsh this summer on plants?
Because the leaves on quite a few long established plants in the garden are getting burnt from sun exposure and that has not happened in past years. It’s not due to lack of water, with the recent heat I have been consistently watering morning and night but some of the plants have half of the leaves in shade half in sun and the sun half is getting hammered, leaves yellowing, burn marks, falling off.
+1 we had the same here in Goodwood
Apparently it's called "scald"
Bit of rain in southern subs.

UV or solar flare. Or just death rays from Mars.Yeah, my small plants that are not in the shade are scorched. It's not a a water issue either. Never had this issue before.
Had a few drops here. But of the kind that you don't even see them on the ground; just get evaporated.Very windy day in Kenilworth, leaves blowing everywhere. Rain just started around 6:15pm. Definitely more than the 1mm predicted...
