My boss lives on the Noordhoek hill and a couple years ago half of the soil washed away leaving half of the house floating...

Apart from a brief hiatus on Friday, this looks the the start of several wet and cold days. Stay warm.

At least the dams should have filled up a bit - last I checked they were down 30% compared to last year.

The dams are doing OK, and are average for the start of winter (June was rather dry). They are 30% down compared to last year, because 2023 was very wet. Next week is going to be wetter, and runoff will increase.
