You didn't actually read my answer? They do, but they have a lot that they can't use, things like all the stuff for emergency broadcast is registered to Telkom. At one point I actually wrote it all out, and Telkom has about the same as the other two while it's generally all in higher frequencies (if I remember correctly/nothing has changed).Telkom has the most spectrum prior to the auction and I think they still have the lions share compared to the other 3 mobile sp
Found the list: https://www.gov.za/sites/default/files/gcis_document/201409/265840.pdf
Have previously asked @rpm to post about it as I'm sure a lot of people would be interested, but he ignored it.
https://mybroadband.co.za/news/5g/386150-telkom-getting-ready-to-launch-5g.html From Feb 2021.From what I’ve read, I don’t think they have 5G or have any intention of launching 5G on their network, the network they might not even own at the moment
If you're talking about no coverage because of: https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/ucm/
They don't update the coverage map as you can see if you look at the legend, they still have 200Mbps listed as top speed for fiber when they have 500Mbps packages for a few months now.
Also, are MTN/Vodacom actually offering 5G? Last I checked, they're just rebranding LTE-A as 5G in most places, which it's not, but this is from early 2021. A lot of providers around the world are/were doing this. Would also guess MTN/Vodacom are rolling out as 5G NSA (same as Telkom), so most of the benefits of 5G don't really exist.
