rain lte-a b618 VOIP

Does the b315 that is supplied with rain have the voip option? I know the Telkom B315 has voip enabled.

I recently helped a family member get up and running, the B315 they received had voip menu present

Hardware version: WL1B310TM02
Software version: 21.321.03.00.1232
Web UI version: 17.100.09.00.03

Thats correct yes.
I have a few friends with the B315 and the VOIP settings are visible
I have the B618 instead of getting VOIP phone or adapter it would have been nice using the Built in VOIP
I have actually contacted RAIN hopefully they know what I am talking about

Some VoIP, utilize a router that sits betwen your broadband modem and your own router. place the
peripheral behind thier own router and tweak, so that they can get better perfomance.

hi guys i also have B618 router and no SIP settings like on B315, i also running 20 phones on elastix server via B618 router.
Is there any firmware to unlock/add sip to the B618 router?

Thanks for the heads-up LloydTuc. I have a B618 supplied by Mweb. It obviously doesn't do an automatic firmware update like yours so I did it manually. Now also 11.195.03.01.1232 and VOIP setting is present.

I also manually updated mine and also has the VOIP Settings

My updated firmware for the B618 also has added the voip menu. Does this mean I can plug a phone into the router and make voip calls on the rain network?

Yes and no. You would need to use a voip provider like freshphone then you can just plug in a normal phone to use.

Mine just did the update last night as well. Got it from Afrihost.

Anyone used it? Does it work reliably?

Thanks for the feedback. Will definitely look into it.

There are a bunch that can work. ANY sip provider will work even international ones.

Some local ones that are easy to signup for is:
Axxess Voice
Mweb Talk *Free local geographical number
Freshphone
Nexus ISP Voip
Vox

my auto upgrade doesn't want to work , anybody got a copy of the file 11.195.03.01.1232 to do a manual upgrade

I did update about a year ago and VOIP is now enabled. I'm afraid I can't find it on my computer but I seem to remember that the download was direct to the B618

Hi guys,

Is there anyone using Axxess voIP on Huawei B618 router?

I have got a B618 router for my Mom and she is on MTN Fixed LTE. If I get Afrihost VOIP for her, then a normal phone will work when plugged in to the router if I can access the VOIP menu on it?

Yes it should work fine. Better to test it first before but it should work fine.
