I've been down for hours already. Support just say they are aware of network issues and are working on it. Bleh.

I haven't checked the speeds today, but yesterday in Cape Town, Durbanville was really bad. It was so erratic I couldn't stream F1 race. Changing bands didn't make any difference.
The quality dropped a lot, very sad.

Best I can muster with my Rain sim is around 10Mbps these days in the helderberg.. How and where are you guys getting 100mbps???

Can agree to that, speeds was super slow quality was up and down non stop. Glad to at least be back in JHB with fibre! But as for Rain being part of my travel its a pastime

Tested my Telkom LTE-A this morning around 4AM.
Ping: 18ms
Download: 160Mbps on Speedtest. On Steam i reach 186Mbps when downloading Games. Downloaded CSGO this morning, 8.5gig in 4 - 5 mins.
Upload: 10mbps on Speedtest , not sure on steam.

How do i change the frequency band on my hauwei b618 router. My rain lte speeds is below 0.5Mps.

The tower you connect to must have 2600hHz enabled as well other wise you wont pick it up.

Contact Rain. Theyll need your physical address and will only supply you with a general direction in which to point your antenna. They wont give out tower locations.

Setup is with an E5186s-61a Hauwei and an external antenna mounted outside

Not too shabby I would say for a wireless network. Also still getting good speed in Centurion and ultra reliable for the last nearly 2 years.

Speedtest do not mean crap with Rain I use to get 60D and 10U, but never gotten close to that in realtime. Maybe they decided to cap me at 100kb a sec?
