Rain Mobile Feedback Thread

Trusting that the uncapped 24/7 is still "decent" as I'm soon about to cancel my other sims this month end including the 250 one in the name of saving monthly costs. I just hope I wont shed tears mid month as I figure even if I decide to go back to the 19hrs it may only take effect the following month.

My upgrade to the 24/7 package was confirmed yesterday via email however my dashboard still shows pay as you use right now. What's worse is that the network is just useless right now, barely breaking 2mbps. Might just end up cancelling my sim.

Yeah i think it's due to everyone being on lockdown so the tower is congested. During 6-11 the internet is full speed at 10mbps

If it truly was only 4K streams then I feel for him a little bit. At the same time I also understand Rain's decision.

We stream Netflix 4k a whole bunch as well as downloading entire series for the lock down, game downloads and updates included, the two of us have only ever reached 750gb in a month. He would have almost had to have been trying to hit that quota to pull it off. On our Fibre line at our other home we don't even push that on a 100mbps package.

As for the rain speeds, ours are still pretty nuts, this is a wifi test from my phone on the 250 package:

Mine is pretty much unusable, even after 6pm.
I think it's just congestion in this particular area, so have to cancel and seek some alternative

Well well..... Was running low on patience with trying to get the 24/7 upgrade to my 250GB package done before monthend, wanting to keep billing date the same.
Thanks to HibiscusTunes for Rain contact. Dropped a message here on MBB and sorted in two days...

Funny thing I noticed that past 2 days. Off peak uncapped is useless from 15:00 to 17:30 so can't use youtube then for half an hour from 17:30 to 18:00 youtube works again with no problems. Surely this cannot be congestion but them flipping a switch?

I seriously don't get how it can be consistently good at night time - from 6pm all the way through, and then by 10am it comes crashing down to 0.02mbps. Absolutely ridiculous.

boyfriend (ghostRgg) and i want to make one of these, i hear he is speaking with you about it, help would be appreciated.

the rain was acting like a little bitch this morning and only getting 20mbps, factory reset the router and up to around 50mbps with a worse upload. we did move the antenna a little yesterday so i'll do some tinkering, but a vast improvement by just factory resetting the huawei as expected.

Oh yes I think telkom is 2300mhz.
Just tested now, currently, 1800 band is running like absolute ****, 4mbps down and 20 up. usually, our 1800 band runs at 30 down, 25 up.

2600tdd usually runs at 60-80 down and average of 6.5 up.

I'll just leave it on the 50 down and 4 up until i feel like moving the antenna back to the better positon.

Just a heads up, if you're using a huawei router, it's worth it to factory reset the thing from the admin page, and just redo all of your info. Do it every so often, then set your bands again manually after that. It's fixed our stuff so many times.
