Rain Mobile Feedback Thread

Time to move.
Time to move.
Yep after the holidays is when I am throwing in the towel.
Only thing is slim pickings.
Not willing to go the contract route for fear of a repeat of this problem.
ADSL lines removed, no fibre in sight.
Not covered by MTN Fixed LTE and have small Telkom package for peak times but is up and down so staying away from getting a large package from them.
Vodacom only has contracts and CellC was rubbish.

Where do you stay. That is v slim pickings indeed!

Believe it or not this is in Durban.
Must be on outskirts or...
Anyway, that's the way the cookie crumbles unfortunately in the world of distributed internet services.
Location, location, location!

I still have internet even though its past 6, somebody forgot to enable the peak times again

Sigh rain has been harsh on the torrent speed

Yep, same here. Constant 55kbps until about midnight when they release the brakes. Meh, I can live with it. I wake up in the morning to everything completed usually.

That was also the case for me on December 13th. But then they started charging me peak data rates even though my dashboard is set to 0gb. Hope I'm not being charged for this

Happened to me aswell but it corrected itself after a few days

Could be but what surprised me with your screenshot is the number of cables plugged into the antenna. Not sure why Rain will roll out a new tower with no 4x4 mimo because it would mean the antenna is old.
So time to eat humble pie. It is not a rain tower but a telkom as @cavedog said. Telkom now have 1800mhz coverage here,

I noticed this over the December holidays, at a place that was 100km away from the nearest Rain coverage.

On the beach there is no rain coverage (SIM 2)

Back at the house, about 100m away there seems to be Rain but no signal and once you try to use if for data it drops out.

About 40km inland in the middle of nowhere the Vodacom coverage drops down to EDGE but still Rain 4G shows, although not usable.

Anyone knows what causes this? Is the phone seeing Vodacom and thinks it is Rain?

Vodacom roams on Rain.

Does anyone know if you still get the 7 days grace period when signing up?
