I queued a few downloads as well from 11:30. Did about 90GB until now.
 
Good people of myBB,
I ordered a sim and am expecting delivery sometime this coming week. I have 2 questions that I need help with.
1. How is gaming like on EU servers?
2. I am looking for a good robust LTE router. Where can I find one at a reasonable price?

1. Well it's LTE so from Gauteng it's about ~200ms or so but will obviously depend on tower congestion
2. The B618 is a the best one and would work wonders with the Rain simcard. You can get then for 1k or so from cash crusaders or gumtree or olx.

Mine is quite useful. It doesn't rain at the moment, but data wise it does ;)

Funny thing is the day I received my sim signal was 1 bar and after a day or 2 it suddenly went to 4.

BTW, do you have an LTE-A device? If so, I think I'm going to upgrade my B315, although I do believe I'm further from my nearest tower than you are, unless you have an external antenna ?
 
Aside from OP's initial comment re: torrents,whats the word on this?
Im looking at dropping ADSL to 4Mbps and a 100GB package or something for the hours of 5pm-8am next day(for the free data from midnight to 8 with my adsl ISP).Rain will handle the connection the rest of the time.

Can I torrent from midnight at full speed?Essentially allowing me to drop to 2Mbps on ADSL and the cheapest data package I can find to handle connectivity from 6pm-11pm?

Nope. torrents are limited on Rain Mobile too (heavily. some users say they get throttled to 100kb per second (1mbit)
there are others that have reported faster..

I had a problem with streaming the world cup. It felt as though I was throttled with rain. The speedtests was normal although the streaming was lagging. I used my mtn sim for streaming and it was perfect. Any idea if this was throttling?

It was... throttling yes. Rain limits and port shapes differently. Speed test run on port 80 and goes almost full speed(even that is throttled). Streaming video and Netflix also limited. Gaming on different shaping rules. Torrents shaped to hell and gone.
But it is a cheap service. so you can't expect full speeds.

So far for me gaming is not affected at all and is to be expected because it does not use a lot of data anyways. Youtube seems to be capped @ 6.5Mbps during peak times and day times but after midnight it's open.
Torrents are capped to 1Mbps during peak time it seems and during the day not bad speeds but between midnight and 6am it's not capped at all.
