Rain network users hit by downtime

Rain customers across South Africa are reporting problems with their Internet connections.

Downdetector shows a large spike in downtime reports for the Rain network, all of which relate to Internet connectivity problems.

It is unclear if both 5G fixed-wireless customers and 4G mobile users are affected, and complaints on social media and the Downdetector website originate from both customer bases.

So mybroadband is the new spectrum allocation available already? Meaning since Rain already had band 38 are they just sending update Over The Air

That may explain why my internet feels so slow today - even uploads feel super slow.

Yip, since yesterday, feels a bit slow.

I have to reboot my 5G router every 8 hours or so. Connection just dies.
Have been up the whole of today though.

Mine still works thankfully - only that it feels much slower than normal.

Try going to rain.co.za , seems like they have locked out users who have not paid their bill. Paid mine, back online now

Pardon the pun........was it intentional?

hehehe. Rain 5G certainly adheres to the laws of Physics. Just like precipitation its always down and maybe a little to the side but never ^UP^...... :D

Do you guys not get automatically debited on the 1st of every month??

Yeah it seems strange that so many of their clients downtime is just a billing issue....

Hmm I had issues early this week but for the past two days and right now I don't have issues to report, and it isn't like that time rain cut off for everyone after midnight a few weeks back, odd.

The shaping on rain is killing me. Can't use a VPN to work. Only get 4meg when connected to vpns. Try open a database at 4mg. Logged a call. Took them 10 days to reply saying I must contact my IT department.

If you are on the 24/7 uncapped option I would recommend you downgrade to the off-peak package. The 10mbps package will just not cut it for most IT purposes.
