Rain says fixed-5G plan with free mobile data and minutes is going strong

Rain launched its Rain One product in May 2023, combining mobile and fixed-wireless plans with uncapped fixed data, free monthly calls and data for two phones — and the company says it has proved popular.

MyBroadband asked Rain for an update on Rain One and about its plans for the product.

I doubt any subscriber has "level up" I honestly believe subscribers only use "mobile plan" because is compulsory
Yes rain sometimes sucks but people are more interested in "unlimited data 24/7"
R50 per GB is not that cheap considering prepaid plans has discounted promo data bundle (Just4you, Mo'Nice, Momo and Vodapay) subscribers consume data fast so limited time promo bundle wins

I won't be shocked if rain discontinue "rain one" in 3 years time it is wrong strategy

All I wanted from Rain was cheap standalone mobile data and they failed.
Also how is this not an advert? When asked Bando's told me that their new poo flavoured chicken was selling well. There seems to great demand for poo chicken, and you can also buy coleslaw thats off and fake cheese as an add on (satire).

Which company when asked about a new product doesn't say its going amazing. Where is the - however a poll on Mybroadband/X/Reddit where-ever showed 324 responses, there where no positive responses on the RainOne product, everyone said they didn't want the mobile portion and only came to Rain for cheap uncapped internet.

In my experience, their towers fail really fast when there is no power, loadshedding or otherwise.

I drive between durban and johannesburg often. I have a Rain Sim. Comms stops as u leave Heidelburg, comes back around 10km outside Harrismith, stops at Van Reenens, comes back around Pietermaritzburg, stops around Ashburton, comes back at Kloof. I can't take them seriously as a provider when that happens. And if by very fast u mean goes down the second there is load shedding instantly then yes very fast.

An original 5G data plan user, their towrr stsys up, where I am in Bloemfontein, during load shedding, connection is pretty good, with decent speeds.

They are now spamming me to take up their two SIM cards with free airtime and data, just don't have devices to put them in, and I am not about to go out and buy devices to use these. So just ignore them.
