Rain R379 cellphone only package

How will it prevent hotspot usage?
Not sure but I do know this:
1. Americans have always been able to block hotspotting on phones. from the days when they started offering unlimited plans. They used to call it "No tethering".
2. Every device needs an IP address, I guess they could block additional IP addresses on the specific sim.

What exactly is going to stop one from making a hotspot?

Ah yes, point 2. You can just root your phone and get around it.

Oh, darn, really wish they'd make a 24/7 Plus package for home use by now at a much higher price which is basically this minus the streaming cap in off-peak hours, and even with the bypassable hotspot monitoring it would be very tedious to maintain so good on them for this deal.

Okay then help neon ninja out to prove your network isn't crippled.
Listening to your customers, I certainly would never consider a rain product until your 'updates' are complete.

We will continue to work on it, and we hope you will consider us in the future.
