Rain's mobile network quality is falling

I'm in port elizabeth I got the rain fixed LTE-A form mweb when it launch with the free b618 router everything was going great got speeds form over 25mbs then all. Of a sudden form December the speeds started getting crzay slow lkme under 2mbs download and under 1 mbs upload i would only get good speeds for like 20 minutes then it dropped and all mweb would do. Is send it off to rain and rain would always say I must just put my router off and on again but it didn't help it was like rain forgot they fixed LTE-A customers so I did think I'd get a Rain sim with the unlimited data form rain it's self and guess what the same problem very low speeds so I decided to cancel everything I have with rain and I got the deal with mwebs telkom lte and it's better then the rain product rain really did go down the drain when it launched it was great but few months down the line horrible speeds started and I am sure I'm not the only one experiencing the same problems with rain in Port Elizabeth I really liked they fixed LTE-A it was affordable but now it's crap horrible speeds I had no choice but to cancel

I had the same experience with their fixed LTE. I used to connect to the 2600 frequency and all was fine until one day only 1800 worked, so I cancelled.

well they wanted he numbers, now look what they got,
too many subscribers and not enough towers and cr@p support not worth a damn

I suppose they had to get their name well known, in that they succeeded, its in sustaining the growth that there is an issue.

Oh Lordy. Agreed. The DM's on FB are terrible: "Please supply us with your SIM number" or something like that. OK, try and think that one through: How do you expect me to continue this conversation, live, on FB chat, when I have now POWERED OFF the Router to REMOVE THE SIM CARD??? HOW DO I GET TO CHAT TO YOU WITH NO INTERNET CONNECTION AND TYPE IN THE SIM CARD NUMBER? Luminiferous aether-connection perhaps? Or is Elvis going to let me Hotspot-wifi his cell-phone?

Log in to the rain website, go to manage and there you will see your sim card number.

My connection was horrible this morning but it is back to normal now

Awesome! If we were not migrated to Afrihost, that is.

Iburst sucks, you all can deny it as much as you want, wait until a few R250 customers climb onto your tower and see what happens to your speeds. I started on 50Mbps in a high density urban area, just before they canned sales I want seeing <5Mbps effective throughput during peak times, speed tests however continued just fine.

They knew at that point that they had to do something so they went full retard and allowed more people onto the network. Saw a Pic on Twitter the other day of a guy who had pushed 4TB on Rain, for R250.

How I wish my line speed only degraded by that much. I was on their fixed wireless package via Afrihost and getting an average download speed between 35 and 45 Mbps from November 2017 to November 2018. Since then it dropped to 10 Mbps until about February and since February it was 0.21 Mbps. I complained for months and their best solution was for me to move my router 5 metres from where it was hoping it will connect to a different tower. They then claimed that I somehow managed to use 348GB of data while my average download speed was 0.21 Mbps for nearly 3 months. I've consequently cancelled the line and chosen to rather go without any internet for 3 weeks while the fibre installation for the area is completed than to waste money on them and their non existent customer support. It took me responding to all of their marketing director's tweets and warning potential customers about their crappy service to even get their customer support to address my concerns. They have overtaken telkom as the most useless ISP. I managed to get afrihost to reverse my last debit order as well as I refused to pay for non service.

And it is impossible for them to see your sim number by you just providing them with your details?

Exact same issue my side. I couldn't even complete a speed test half the time and at best it was 0.21 Mbps for months when I needed to use it for anything. Only between 2am and 7am would it jump to maybe 6 Mbps

I had a SIM 2 years ago. Speed was awesome. But the last few months were horrible in the evenings. Then Vuma saved me :)

*I sound like those SPAM accounts about Mama Sikolo and by using her services my life turned around

Well here in Sedgefield, all is still good. This sort of speed for me here is consistent, and goes to 40 / 20 in the early hours:

Plainly few people in this town on Rain.
Telkom VDSL ends for me today, so if Rain goes belly up I shudder to think of the mission I'm going to have getting it back...

Heart of East London. Maybe a proper router will improve my speeds.

How Hipocrite of Shameel. Maybe if Vodacom could stop roaming on Rain then throughput will improve. What does he want Rain to do? Sell us a Gig for R149 so we can use the network less?
yes the greedy c*nts that they are
