Any Rapidshare users in the house?

Im having two weird problems and Im hoping that someone can help me out.

I download stuff off RS right.. and I use Flashget, with default at 10 connections.

Thing is sometimes when I download stuff it says its corrupted, and I know for a fact that it is NOT. I try again and again it says corrupt all the time.. then I download with 1 connection only, and its fine. Why is this? How many connections can I use safely? I have been using 5 recently, and that seems to have done the trick..

Also in Flashget, when I have files queued up, and have it default to download only one file at a time. Sometimes I queue files up, and it says its downloaded them all, but out of ten its only done about 6 (full 200MB) files, and the other 4 are small (600bytes) files. I've watched it before... and it says connecting, and then just goes to downloaded complete. There is NOTHING wrong with these links, because I tell it to download again... and off it goes 100% WTF?

Any help would be much appreciated

cheers

You cannot resume downloads with a free RS account so you may not use flashget.

He didn't say he was resuming downloads... And I use Free Download Manager with free Rapidshare.
He also says it works when his download manager is configured to 1 connection so Flashget does work...

Sorry HTC_Guy, I don't really know what the problem is. Perhaps they've changed things on their end to encourage people to buy accounts

I use orbit downloader and I have been experiencing the same problem with some files from rapidshare downloading only 600 bytes, if you restart the download it usually works fine. But it can become quite a irritation.

yes use FDM and set the resume rollback to 512kb

if you get corruption errors then keep segments to a maximum of three parts per file.
corruption occurs when the segments arent joined correctly, this can generally be avoided with a decent rollback size on resume

thanks for the info guys,

FYI Im using a premium account, so using flashget shouldnt be a problem... Im gonna give this FDM a try :)

glad to hear other people are having this stupid 600bytes error too! :(

im back

thanks again for the help yesterday...

thing is now I have a different problerm. I installed a fresh windows last night, onto my new 1TB Western Digital Black edition :D so I decided it was time to lose Flashget and try this FDM..

I installed it and was impressed right away! :) It seems like a much better program, both in terms of coding and just the functionality and all the options you can select... very nice.

The main reason I use a download manager is to queue a whole bunch of files, sometimes up to 100, but I set it to only download one file at a time.

Problem is this, I normally set a batch at a time, and I cant get this working with FDM.

I select the URL's like normal, and hit copy, and that brings up FDM and I enter the user and password (for RS) and off it goes. I can see that ALL the files are in the list at the top (only ONE job in the mian window), but it only downloads the first file...

I even tried selecting the URL's and right-clicking, then clicking that "download selected with FDM"... that didnt work either.

Can someone please help me?

dude what the hell are you talking about?? read my post again and THEN post something please... ( I took the time to type it all out, so you cant read it!)

Saving a username and password in FDM is NOT the problem!!

R..E..A..D

Rapidshare does not allow multiple connections on one file if you are a free user. i.e. Flasget has 6 jets per file that each downloads a piece at a time.

almost... :D

check out this, just pretend its a webpage

http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php/photo/10053

Im selecting all these and then clicking copy, and FDM opens with the new job page, and under the description line at the top I can literally scroll through all the files... but when it starts it only downloads the first file... but not the rest!?

FYI there is only one job listed (not sure if this program places all files into one job...)

understand? I must be doing something wrong?

ah i see your problem, simple solution:

copy the list as you did

then press CTRL + SHIFT + V

that will import them as a list, and not just one.

happy leeching ;-)
