Rapidshare updates to Rapids

I disagree that you can dictate the terms in such a way. Once you've got the username and password, nothing stops you from locking the buyer the out of the account and not paying the other half...and suddenly the guy helping you out loses everything.
I don't see why someone who joined this month on the forums can have trust issues with someone who has been a forum member since 2006 in Aharon's case and 2004 in my case. I doubt a long standing member will make a duck for a couple hundred rands, but an oke that signed up 'yesterday' has got no credible history.

yes I am dictating terms, but I am in no way forcing him to do it.

I guess in a way there can't be any WIN-WIN situation for us since:

- If he were to create account with his own details, what doesn't stop him from locking me out once I pay the other half.

and lol, using the time you joined the forum as "credibility" isn't really very convincing. if numerous people would vouch for him that have had dealings with said person, then that is another thing.

But that's not the case here...we're not talking "if's" in this situation...

Whether you've received references about me on the forums or not, I'm not going to be labelled a thief and kill my forum account for a couple hundred bucks. You've already indicated you can't manage your money well which is a concern for anyone transacting with you. You're right, you're not forcing anyone and I'm very sure someone will offer to help you out.
Have you got no friends or family with a CC...it'll be a lot easier?????

huh, where have I indicated that I don't manage my money well?

saying I don't have a CC because I know I will abuse it is no indication of that (if that is what you are referring to).

on the contrary, I prefer to know I can buy something and have the full funds before I actually go ahead with it.
so instead of buying on credit, I prefer doing it in one go. maybe that is not as beneficial in some ways a CC can be, but it most definitely indicates that managing money is no problem.

I have family with a CC, but the fact that I will have to use their CC on paypal is not something I want to do. (they also not with FNB)

well tbh, Aharon offered assistance if he could, and I simply stated that if some1 were to help me, sadly I would only do it on that condition.

I never really asked any1 for help before that.

it is also why I stated that it is stupid that you can't pay with CC direct instead of going through PayPal.
(it would be a lot easier as you said)


but anyways, some1 pointed me towards something called Mipony so I will test that 1st.

well even though I have an account with them, I try and get alternate links as to not use my traffic.

and now thanks to Gamer, which I appreciate greatly, I now have a Hotlink Premium account along with my MU and RS.
 
I'm signed up with HF a few days ago (30 day account as a trial).
I'm getting better speeds out of HF than RS. I also find it easier to download when I want, rather than scheduling eveything for the RS Happy Hour. I think I'll renew/extend this HF account and slowly use up my RS account rapids until the account dies.
 
Hotfile Sucks IMO, I like Rapidshare much much more.

If I copy an entire list of links to free download manager, rapidshare handles them fine - but hotfile? nope!
you need to manually click on EVERY SINGLE link and let FDM catch it manually - try doing this for something with 91 parts.....

RS is also way faster - I have seen a file transfer at 600KB/s before...
 
Sounds like a software problem rather than anything else.
I use IDM (http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com) and it fully integrates into your browser, highlight link selection and IDM takes care of the rest. It also downloads vids direct from most video sharing sites.
I've been a RS user for several years now and haven't considered anything else. I can only comment on a few days usage of HF and I am def getting better speeds out of HF than RS.
 
not if you put a little bit of grease on your telephone cable - well lubricated electrons move faster as they have less friction

In the advanced options, Mipony gives the option to enable “Automatically extract rar files after downloading them”. Once this option is activated you can specify what folder the files will be stored in once the are extracted.
To extract rar files after they are downloaded, a password is sometimes required. Mipony has compiled a list of passwords for extracting files that grows automatically with successfully used passwords. If none of the stored passwords works, Mipony will request one. After requesting a password from the user, Mipony tests all the passwords on the list, so if you download a lot of files that have the same password, Mipony will only request it the first time.
