Feel sorry for the grunt workers, top guys will be okay for the holday season.

They used to be good, but trying to run a return through these guys, moved me to rather pay the extra few percent and go through Takealot ..I used to buy a LOT from Raru, I havent bought something from them for over 2 years..

Pity. Ordered many times from them over the years and never had an issue. Mind you last time I did order from them was around 2018.

8 years was a good run now wonder whats happening at Loot.
They seem fine. I don't buy a huge amount from them, but they sometimes have things other places don't or they're the cheapest option. They've always delivered on time.

I have never ever had an issue with Raru, except once Covid kicked off there was a bit of a delay with International imports.
Me neither, although the last time I ordered was December 2021. They actually got the product faster than promised.

Thank you for tagging me.

Finally, some more about Raru on MyBB, but it's just a regurgitation from the News24 piece. They both spelled Waine Smith's name wrong (I see it's been corrected on this piece) and no one seems to question if Rassie Erasmus is a pseudonym.

I'm glad some people have managed to get their money out, but shudder to think how many orders will just never be refunded because of terrible management.

Everyone wants to shame Raru, but let me tell you this entire mess was caused by anticompetitive practices by Takealot.

They have been dumping products onto the market at cost or below for a long time now. They run at a financial loss and have investors big pockets to sustain that, until their competitors were driven out. And we havent helped at all, with the rampant voucher abuse we are all guilty of.

Its no wonder the competition commission is investigating them.

Shame, I guess that makes it fine for them to not fulfil orders or refund customers timorously?
I think you will find that most companies will do this kind of thing - thats how you break into the market.
I don't think I have ever seen a company ethically collapse, so impossible to make any comparison.

Lets take the example of my friend. Hes employer didnt pay his salary on time, therefore he defaulted on his bond debit order.

Everything has a ripple effect. It was never his intention to default, and he has a good heart. It was by force. Doesnt make him a bad person.

But you would rather have him hanged.
