Raru assures website downtime is hosting problem

Raru website offline

Online retailer Raru’s website has been hit with an extended outage, leading to speculation that the company has shut down.

However, Raru director Waine Smith has assured that it is a hosting problem.

Waine Smith just sounds like a dodgy made up name. I wouldn't buy from him.

Smith said they went down just after 09:00 this morning and are still waiting on their hosting provider to respond.

If I am a online shop, I would imagine uptime would be high up the list of wants.
I also think your hosting provider would need to know about that.

Yes, some other websites was also down. This isn't unique to Raru.

I am curious who Raru uses as their hosting provider because this wasn't up to SLA standard level mitigation. Though I don't know within which ecommerce scope they are hosted. This isn’t helping their current reputation.

30 working days is a very long time for a refund. Best to pay for things online with a credit card if you are able and then do a chargeback if there are issues
