Raspberry Pi 2 Model B surprise launch, local pricing

Fragmentation! Oh wow though. Also the specs are great to get android running decently.

Much better!
Now they just have to sort out the issue of not being able to boot an OS directly (without using a bootloader on SD) from a USB flash stick or external HDD.

Powerful enough to stream/encode 10GB+ rips over plex/xmbc?

Because it has an ARMv7 processor, it can run the full range of ARM GNU/Linux distributions, including Snappy Ubuntu Core, as well as Microsoft Windows 10
coool! my linux programming sux a bit, but if i can use Windows and C++/VB.net it opens so many more options for robotics!
can finally ditch the old pc/laptop for control.
yes, i know... gotta learn to program in linux compatible languages... on bucket list

I have one of the first models... sitting in a cupboard atm..

Might have to give this new one some thought though, could be a decent media center at least.

Considering RSes huge markups , I will wait till china gets it and get it from there instead....

Also ordered one now. Was going to order a B+ and then this news came today :) Makes me very happy I waited a short while.

Anyone with one of the older model doing anything useful with it? I have one of the original Model B, and after playing around with it for a bit, I decided it was a nifty toy, but not really very practical for anything in the real world.

This new version, on the other hand...
