Raspberry Pi 2 Model B surprise launch, local pricing

Just ordered a few. RS even gave me a discount...

Anyone with one of the older model doing anything useful with it? I have one of the original Model B, and after playing around with it for a bit, I decided it was a nifty toy, but not really very practical for anything in the real world.

This new version, on the other hand...

I bought 2 generic USB Dual Shock Gamepads, and turned mine into a RetroPie gaming console. Plays ATARI, NES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, SNES, SEGA Genesis and Master System games nicely :).

This /\ is what I will do with my current one... and put RaspBMC on the new one :D

Just out of interest sake. MyBB and the RS-Online website lists the RPi 2 as R446.86 ex vat.
After doing my actual order, the price changed to R418.60 ex vat.
So the actual price with vat is below R500, or R477.21 to be exact.

Only 800mhz... Would rather go for Amazon fire TV with 1.6ghz quad core snapdragon

My current Raspberry pi is power enough to be a web and VPN server, this one will be like a beast in comparison! Very tempting with this price...

Can you buy an Amazon FireTV for R500?

Can you OC your pi to 1.7ghz?
How about Bluetooth, WiFi, 2gb ram, and double the gpu power?
Out the box remote?

Pi is 450excl vat, plus 180excl vat for case, 110excl for power supply, +whatever for microsd.

So is it still a straight cut win for pi?

How exactly do you power it? What kind of power supply do you use?
Can you use a generic cellphone charger?
