Hey guys, i know there are a lot of 'first time' posters asking for an invite and all but i am not new to this site been here for quite some time now.

Is any body willing to invite me please? I am not going to beg and plead cos thats just stupid. I have a lot of stuff to share, music, movies and series. Infact i have over 1tb worth of content. So if you worried that i will be purely a download whore, it just wont happen.

Thanks, let me know.

send me your e-mail address and I will see what I can do.

Oh come on, 90% of Bitfarm limit their UL speeds, regardless of their standing in the community.

Why don't I like Bitfarm? Because I can't download at more than 10kb/sec because all the seeders are limiting their UL.

Not sure what you're downloading. I usually get media at speeds of 30-40kb down

My speeds are also pretty decent. Never had a problem with people limiting their uploads. He must be on a different BitFarm! :D

Strange... I've never seen anyone limiting their bandwidth there... I only limit mine at times due to my very limited line (384 line) and the fact that I have limited local bandwidth.

the advantage of a private tracker is that you can see the users in the swarm and details of their use, ie how much data they've sent and received since they joined. it's up to you to keep your ratio healthy if you want respect, because seeding after reaching of least1:1 is a contribution. some do it fast and some do it better in smaller amounts :)

I understand the bare basic of utorrent, but I could never really understand all those ratio numbers, I usually just copy the dl file to the directory I want to use it from and leave the original there until the tracker key becomes unreadable or old or whatever causes it to be unregistered.

those numbers indicate how much of the torrent you downloaded, you uploaded. so lets say the torrent was a gig, a ratio of 0.5 means you sent 500mB back; a ratio of 2 means you shared it twice or in other words 2 gig.

Its a tough one to balance - do i keep a slow server in SA, so local users can access on local bandwidth but its super slow and may take a couple days to see your fave file arrive or do i rent server space in the UK or Sweden and lose some local bandwiddth users, but increase the speed of the site and still keep local users with International bandwidth, also if your speeds are fast, they tend to get faster as it will attract users with seedboxes, and if your site is secure and you hang out on the the right IRCs in time you may be lucky enough to connect with someone from TTC, which will allow your site to get ridiulous pre-times :) the downside is that it can be expensive, why most big sites have 10 000 members plus and their donations pay for the server
