How to get to eBucks Level 5 with new rules

From November 2025, it will be substantially more difficult for FNB Premier and Private account holders to reach the top level of the bank's rewards programme without taking on additional products.

Each year after its usual annual adjustments to the programme, MyBroadband compiles a guide explaining how FNB Premier customers can easily reach Level 5, the topmost reward tier.

Anyone know if it's possible to downgrade from premier to the cheapest possible account that supports eft, debit orders and a virtual card, without having to go through the effort of switching to another bank?

Premier is not going to be worth it for me anymore.

Sorry gotta go post on Facebook Marketplace for a partner now:

Have a family accountAdd a spouse or partner under the My Family tab on the FNB app and open and maintain a bank account for themYes — discounted 50% of main account holder’s monthly fee1,000

Such a weird hoop to jump through though.

Was thinking the same thing, i asked the staff at a branch a while back and it can be done. Just worried about my bundled credit card,it might make it more expensive

Holy hell, do people actually do all that stuff?

My banking is just 2 debit orders a month with a salary deposit and single transfer to savings. Other than that, I swipe my credit card for all payments and pay it off once a month.

Aspire/Gold? hell been on Aspire for years and years, never once saw the need to be like the multimillionaires here and upgrade to premier for some stupid LVL 5 reward like some kind of weird RPG.

still up till now dont get the fuss with this, its like somebody took away your god Given rights to get Ebucks
when it was always subject to change at the whim of a Bank.

I haven't gone past level 2 in many years now. I gave up trying ages ago. It has become an awful white elephant in their "bouquet". Discovery Miles is so much better.

Did it years ago: Easy PAYU + Aspire CC- and I still get enough Ebucks to mostly cover all the fees with just meager fuel rewards. Buy everything by tapping Apple watch/phone linked to CC. For me this deal is actually cheaper than Capitec (that I have as a backup).

so still take out terrible products. Have an overdraft on purpose and get on that terrible fusion rubbish?
i'm going to resign myself to being on L3 from now on

why are people so salty about LVL5 vs 3? or are people literally so bored with their lives to keep demanding the rues be bent for them cause they on a premium account.

A factor for a lot of people being on the higher accounts has been ebucks. It was the only reason I moved from Gold (back then) to Premier. I think the anger is justified, because the goalposts are now moving every second month instead every year.

And this thread is full of people who have and currently do actively want to try and stay on level 5. So by reading this thread you will encounter vocal people on the subject.

They are currently taking their time in downgrading me to Aspire and are already outside their 48 hour timeline. The next calls will be to start cancelling accounts.

Regardless of the Ebucks issues I can not even recommend them based on their current quality of service.
