That's not my experience with TP-Link, can you say what model you have please? (not a rep, but buy their stuff a lot)
OK
I have a TP-LINK WR743ND and it decided that it no longer connects to the internet. All I ever see in the router log is "timeout waiting for PADO packets" when I am trying to use it as my main router...updating firmware doesn’t help at all, it just refuses to connect to the internet, thankfully I can use it as a bridge and do.
I have read of people having the same problem, and if I look through my history I am pretty sure I can find someone saying the same thing.
Now other one is a mr3220 and it freezes once every 12 hours this is the one I use to actually connect to the internet,
This morning the mr3220 started showing the same symptoms the first router showed before it decided that connecting to the internet was too good for it.
Go onto tp-links site, you will see that they don’t even make hardware Version 1 anymore, (which is the one with this freezing problem) only V2 which probably has this problem fixed.
A whole bunch of people on this site experience the exact same problem with it freezing up : http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/370386-TP-LINK-MR3420-Needs-Restart-every-couple-of-hours!!
The Mr3420 and the Mr3220 both freeze up after prolonged use.
So yeah, you can say I am not having good luck with TP-link's routers..
