*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

That's all well and good but "works for you" != "works for me" and, as it happens, I'm rather more interested in "works for me".
Nothing works. At all. And, given that all I was going for was www.iburst.co.za, I call that a failure.

You know, I thought you had me there: I really didn't know whether I had non-iBurst DNS in my router and a check showed that I have nothing non-iBurst loaded.

So that's not it either.

Which brings me back to it's all good and well that you SAY it works, but it doesn't really help me/us when it doesn't ...so, back to you.

PS, on a side issue: 'revert' already means 'change back' so 'revert back', she no work. ;) You should use 'change back' or 'revert'.

Was going to be rude, but then I saw the egg splatters, so it's kewl. We've all been there...

Sorry. I don't use furk.net but did test with DownThemAll! on FireFox.

With the following file http://seventies1970s.com/1977/radio/Lucille.mp3 I did a multiple segment download and I paused and resumed it a number of times successfully.

Well it isn't a furk.net issue and it seems to be blocked by your international provider because once agian it was working fine until the previous evening, and it's just timing out, so please investigate as to what is blocking this service as I am a paying customer here and I pay furk for theirs and can not use it.

i did a furk download (not subscribed) 206mb audio mp3 file. worked fine...

if you can start a download, your ISP is not the problem as your ISP doesn't know the difference between starting and resuming, it only sees traffic to a particular IP.

my advice: http://www.furk.net/support

oRiX, I've spent weeks with furk support once and they exhausted everything and confirmed that it was being blocked by my ISP, afterwards Roland opened a ticket to invetigate with the international provider and guess what after that I could download no problems again, until 2 days ago. It's not the small files that's the problem, it is the files that are large like 3.5 Gb.

I tried another file last night, got to 18% and it paused and won't resume, just timing out. There is definitly a problem here on I-Burst side as the same file I asked my friend to get on Cybersmart last night on furk under my account and guess what, it went all the way through this morning. So definitly not furk and i-burst are involved in some kind of blocking here.

Also, to add, the speed isn't right, I'm getting dl speeds of about 50 - 60 Kb/sec and used to get 110 - 120.... So that also indicates issues.

The download resumed last night for the 1st time in 3 days from furk (so it is definitly not them) and then again timed out after 2% of downloading, now it won't resume again and the speeds are pathetic.... Care to answer I-Burst?!

internet has suddenly crawled to a halt, getting connection reset errors when trying to surf random sites, mostly international

The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

terrible connection tonight. keeps dropping out, need to constantly refresh pages to get them to load. In Cape Town.

FFS IBurst. Get it together!

Whats going on tonight iBurst? Slow speeds and timeouts

Iburst not gonna do anything or comment?! Well Facebook won't open again and international connectivity gone down the sh*tter again it seems.... Any feedback would be appreciated or at least part of the f'n service I pay for?!

You are not giving me much to work on. Can you update your location with your suburb and post your results to the Midrand speedtest.net server and the Johannesburg pingtest.net server. Also a bit more detail on your setup? Modem type / OS?

I checked my crops on Facebook/Farmville (withered) and read the news on BBC and CNN (all fine).

Well maybe if you replied like 4 days ago asking for this information I would've given it to you, not a week later.... But anyways, I am used to this kind of service from I-Burst. Living out my last couple of months with your company and CAN NOT wait to move to Cybersmart in July. I was with Cybersmart for years prior to joining I-Burst and my parents are still using them today, what a PLEASURE to deal with they are!

Modem type USB I-Burst modem, OS is Windows 7, suburb is Northriding, Randburg, I always have "100%" signal with I-Burst.

Also, speed is NOT really the issue, it's the downloads that are, again last night I was downloading a file on Furk, this time an 800 MB file, it got to exactly 48% and then bam, time out, now it just times out every time, can't get past 48%, like I said this is NOT a Furk server issue as I tried this on a Cybersmart account and files go through fine. Therefore, the ISSUE is WITH I-Burst. Please sort this blocking of Furk out with your international provider otherwise, I will OUT of principle lay a complaint with the Ombudsmann for the money lost, with HelloPeter and so forth.

Yesterday afternoon was initially slow and laggy, but during the evening I raided in WoW and it was perfect.

Also my Youtube videos are fast again. Thanks Ronald :)
