*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Ok so I have waited a week and things don't look any better :(
Look at step 6

Tracing route to blade10-100-208.multiplay.co.uk [85.236.100.208]

2 173 ms 54 ms 54 ms 192.168.2.3
3 68 ms 49 ms 54 ms 192.168.2.9
4 77 ms 49 ms 49 ms 66.8.22.205
5 73 ms 59 ms 54 ms srp5-0-0.cr1.cpt1.za.mtnbusiness.net [196.31.249.68]
6 603 ms 329 ms 404 ms lt-tpr-1.uk--lt-cr-1.uk-a.mtn.net [209.212.111.129]
7 317 ms 334 ms 379 ms linx1.multiplay.co.uk [195.66.224.224]
8 358 ms 320 ms 319 ms blade10-100-208.multiplay.co.uk [85.236.100.208]

We have done a full diagnostics on the towers in Cape Town and they are all fine. I'll escalate the issue upstream.

Bloody hell. iBurst sucks tennis balls tonight in my area. This seems to be just about the only site I can access. MWEB completely shot, Mail & Guardian kinda okay, overseas, new zealand sites down. Have had to refresh until my mouse button self destructed.

Tested MWEB and DSTV and the sites seem ok. MWEB advertised via Telkom and DSTV via JINX.

Throttled at the moment but I am experiencing extreme lag on wow. MS shoots up to 2500 in 5 man dungeons. At the moment I can't even log into wow unless I keep resetting my internet connection a bunch of times....

What I'm getting at the moment when trying to log into wow: connecting, success! choose realm, connected, you have been disconnected from the server...
If I use battleping, I'm able to log into wow but it is far from playable.

How I wish I had dialup right now -_- bet I would get better pings from that

I hate iburst right now!

Since Thursday I have been having issues. I busted my cap and then topped up... And this was when the nightmare began.

I got an email stating that my account has bandwidth. But I still can't get Internet. I called helpdesk but they worst than telkom.

Is the iburst wireless network down or something? What happening?

I'm in cape town. Or where in cape town can I go to chop heads off?! Isn't there a store where can I test the box? Or is anyone else also not getting connections?

Please help!

Please PM me your account and contact details and I'll review the status of the account. Are you still capped?

iBurst is a mess today. Troubles even connecting and huge lag spikes and disconnects. I am seriously not happy at all. Timeout galore and slow browsing.

+1 Not cool when you trying to get work done.

I have now changed from using Google DNS to using their DNS (although that gives its own problems) and now its really not working. Not finding some sites and taking forever to load others.

Anyone know the cause?

Anyone know the solution?

Regards,
Nick

I'd say about 85% if not more of my international sites aren't loading, getting disconnects and huge lag

Again today problems. Im not getting my static ip assigned today :( . Whats wrong now?

Cant even login to iBurst site.

Ronald. I am still geting latency spikes and slow speeds :(

Anyone else been getting a "Login error" every time you try to login on the iBurst website?

I've been trying to check my remaining data stats since this morning, but I can't login.

UPDATE: Seems to be working now...

I've been getting errors most of this week, but have no idea who is to blame because everyone blames someone else! Am trying to work out where I should post this, advice accepted, but think about it: the complaint route is getting more and more complicated, because your email address is no longer a reflection of which ISP actually 'controls' what goes on. For example, I am an MWEB member, but I have to use iBurst protocols to get my mail, for example (and Internet). At work, we have an iAfrica address, through MWEB, but hosted by Web Africa! And for the past week, at work, I have been getting error messages telling me that the emails I usually send (I work at a magazine) cannot be delivered because they are too big. Recipient is an MWEB customer whose email box is 2 gigs. Emails are maximum 20MBs. MWEB says it isn't their fault. We may be an 'MWEB' address, but Web Africa is hosting us, and they may have size limitations on sizes of email. It's actually all a massive joke...

Ok, now that I'm paying for the service, I am getting a little bit irritated. When the trial started I was downloading 2-3GB a night. I am now getting 0-1GB/night. At the rate it's going, I'll have to downgrade my rapidshare to 1GB/day insted of 5GB/day.

Even browsing during the day (uncapped) is bloody slow....

Also bandwidth usage reported on the iburst site is a joke (that is when you can actually log in). I compare it to my HDD changes & RS log and it is way out.
