*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Great! Now it's so bad in wow that if I dare send a msg to any player I get disconnected... So, this month we are paying for no services again I see.:mad::mad:

Anyone from iBurst maning the forums while Ronald is on holiday? :P

Odd, i've been getting around 800ms in wow. The max i've been getting is 1200ms, makes it tough to tank though. Feeeex eeeet soooooon seacom.

Posting from the KZN coast: The situation is that as a result of the Seacom cable break most upstreamss have swung to using SAT3 which is now fully loaded. The fine print with the upstreams states that in failure conditions oversubscription and congestion is to be expected as it is broadband.

The situation will be normalized when full cable restoration has occurred. We are working hard with the upstreams to minimize the impact but at the moment SAT3 is sucking tennis balls through it's hosepipe.

How it affects local?

Local means JINX and there is no issue there. It doesn't effect local unless there are routing issues whereby many ISPs do not use JINX and peer across other links. Gratuitous peering between the main upstreams is not local.

In that case, no access to internet at all.
Getting disconnected from internet randomly between 5pm and 7pm. Access to MyBB is almost dead at said periods of time when connected, not mentioning access to international sites.

I'm in Jozi...also experiencing disconnects and extremely slow connectivity since yesterday, on local and international sites. Called iBurst...they not aware of any problem but are investigating. A few other users also called in with the same problem. Will wait and see what happens.

I been having huge amounts of packet loss and latency on iBurst since last week. I cant play like this. Today I am virtually disconnected all the time.
My Ventrillo is also lagging.

We have a number of open tickets logged upstream related to latency issues. We are waiting for feedback but assume there is still ongoing submarine cable restoration and post world cup reconfiguratuin occuring.

Anyone else having issues with Facebook lately?

Tried on 2 separate PCs, one with Windows 7 and another with Windows XP, both with IE8.
