SAT3 maintenance

International circuit maintenance will be performed on the SAT3 undersea cable from the 27/08/2010 until approximately the 06/09/2010. All international traffic will be placed on protection paths during this period. Clients may experience increased latency on international data traffic.
 
International circuit maintenance on the SAT3 undersea cable from the 27/08/2010 until the 06/09/2010 is postponed until further notice. International traffic will continue to be carried on primary SAT 3 circuits as per normal.
 
My connection has rolled over and died.

No Google, no Gtalk, no international browsing, nobody answering calls at the support desk. :|
 
Here too. Skype connects for maybe 30 seconds and then disconnects. Gmail not logging in at all.
 
Websites seem to be opening fine. I have a weatherbug app on my windows sidebar which also cannot seem to connect to update the weather.
 
Please note that we are currently experiencing packet loss and browsing to issues to some national and international sites. Upstream engineers are busy investigating the root cause. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused.
 
Getting slow page loading today and getting page not found errors as well which Chrome says "Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found"

After a refresh it seems to work.

DNS issues?

My DNS is:

196.2.97.124
196.46.70.10

which I assume is iBurst's since I changed over from Google DNS a month ago due to that not working (and not recommended) on iBurst network.

Anyone else?

What is the problem?

It varies between different sites i.e. no specific site.

I am also having major connectivity issues this whole week. I know that I am on the edge of the coverage area where I stay but have been surfing and d/l at around 40-100k quite happily. THis week, lucky if I can do anything. Most of my surfing is either facebook, or Evony, both of which have proved difficult to get into or stay on because of these issues. :( HAve signal, then no signal for up to 30secs at a time. WHich hasnt happened for quite a while after a tech came out here and helped us sort the signal issues out, seems that there is now again 'issues' Tried going to the Iburst site, no info whatsoever on network issues and resolution thereof :(

Hi

I am having serious issues with slow connection speeds. On Saturday, 28 August my latency on World of Warcraft to the Eu server Burning Blade was 288ms.
Since Sunday, 29 August I have been having serious latency, sometimes in excess of 5000ms. The best I managed today was 900ms, but with serious spikes making the game unplayable. We lost some easy Arena fights as well Tuesday due to this!

Websites are also quite slow, even local websites.

I am in the Booysens, Pretoria area (close to Mountain View). Signal is always between 95 and 100%. Running Windows 7 64-bit using the Desktop Modem with Antenna installed and mounted on a pole above the roof.
