*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Before someone points out that you're in the insanely useless post club, please update your location.

Don't really feel like updating my location every time I move - and I travel between cities on a weekly+ basis.

I'm sure r00igev@@r doesn't feel like consulting the Eye of Sauron every time you make a post.

Getting very high latencies to europe tonight from 500ms up to 1200ms

This weekend I experienced best download speeds EVAH! +- 90 Kbps. I think my computer almost melted.
While I know it's lovely to be happy and all, I feel compelled to tell you from direct personal experience that flat-out balls-to-the-wall speed is at least up in the 120-130Kbps range - you've still got some gettin' better to do there, bud! :D

Curses! It's the best speed I have had in four years, lol, usually get at best 20-30 Kbps... Dunno if I will see it again. It was a lovely *sob* experience.

iBurst throughput tends to get better when you address signal strength and quality levels so look at where your modem is - literally. Also; you say you're in Weltevreden Park, the area I know is at least covered by that tower up on the hill/ridge above Hillfox - can you see it (do you use that one (do you even know which tower you're (usually) on))?

I had Sean Green come out about a year plus ago, and he helped set it up for me, got my antenna pointing at the best station for my location. I'd had an awful couple of months of browsing, had no luck in getting anywhere, then by chance stumbled across these forums and made contact with him. I've always had 100% signal, but download speeds just got worse and worse. The change made things more stable, but the speeds have never been as great as when I first signed up with iBurst, about 4 years back. Quite often I have sat with a download speed of +- 16 Kbps for a 300 MB file...can you imagine my joy at seeing the expected download time... It's why I almost fell off my chair this weekend when I saw those speeds.

You know when you get that itch you just HAVE to scratch? :p .. sorting signal strength issues is like that for me so, if you're game, I'd love to see an eyeBurst graph of what your modem is seeing. It worth the effort for you?

Upstream pering degradation

Due to an upstream fault on the the fiber interconnection to our upstream peering partner we are experiencing degradation in Internet services. Apologies for the inconvenience.

It's bad, I'm getting "DNS Errors" and "Socket Failure" all over the place.

Took 10 minutes just to get into myBB and read this message.

I'm glad it's not just me...;)

eyeBurst signal graph because it plots all the traffic around you over time - information much more useful than a single signal strength number of unknown duration/stability please. It's a Java app (which should pretty much be around anyway..) and the link above will get you the app. Logical, clear install routine is here :p (I may be biased...)

If'n you could do that, we can take a look at what you've got to work with..!

Well online gaming is still pinging 150-200ms more than it was, so something is still wrong.
