*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Plants grow, people put up buildings...

iBurst uses bounce and when your bounce changes you will need to doublecheck your placement.

Sure I understand that but as there was good service last night and this morning it bad again .
The plants were killed and chopped down last night , The Buildings removed and replaced by Rubble.
Miracle of Miricle they all regrew and were rebuilt while i was sleeping.

That dont wash with me as there are no new Buildings any where between me and the base station and the majoritory of the space between me and there is the Montana High school and i can garanteee that there is no changes on their grounds ( In fact most of it exept for the school building itself is open Field ( no Plants).(And no the building is not in LOS between me and the BASE)

Location: Alberton (Brackenhurst tower)
Problem: Intermittent network "stalls"

Everything will be running smoothly and suddenly everything will stall. iBurst modem activity light will stop flickering. Connection is still maintained and loading pages will just freeze half way. Just as suddenly everything will resume some seconds later Pages even continue loading...

So after the problem in the east rand was "resolved", this problem LESSENED. Still happens occasionally.

New problem: When sending a largeish (above 1mb) email through GMail's SMTP servers, the connection will time-out. This has been happening for several days now; no problem receiving though.

iBurst Slow Speeds???

Hi there

Is anyone getting really slow speeds in the Durban area? I know of someone who is getting 6kb/sec on her connection and I'm unable to figure out why.

Yup I have been as well since this morning.. sorted hoped and prayed it would go away by now - but nope, still big issues.

Staying in Dbn North

Is their a problem with iBurst in Durban

iBurst seems to be down in Durban. Both my iBurst Desktop and USB Modem are not connecting.

I have had iBurst problems 3 times this week. Anyone else in Durban having the same problem?

I had the same problem the other day. I thought it was only my Desktop modem cos my USB one was working fine (which was strange), but then it seemed to sort itself out in the next hour.

No connection issues, but still experiencing slow internet speed despite good signal (sitting 90%+)

Is anyone from iBurst looking at this issue?

Iburs Durban very slow

Same issue here in Durban Glenwood since the last three days. Upload speed seems to be normal (.3Mbs) but the download is about half that where I normally get about 0.9! Not only is it slow, it also drops completely at times.

Please Iburst sort this out!

Is it only me or has iBurst been somewhat unstable these past two or so months?

Dunno, but frankly its frustrating, cant do anything on international sites, and cant do any online gaming now...

@ r00igev@@r - can someone from iBurst look into this and at least feed back so we know whats going on?

Generally it has been fine for me this past year ( apart from false positives for legitimate emails ). But this week there has been connection problems in Durban, downtime and low download speeds whilst upload is generally okay.

Did a check on the iBurst website, there was an incident report logged - however they have reported it as closed as of yesterday. Last night when I tested again around 11pm, there was however still serious lag issues and limited download speeds which shows this issue is still active.

We are replacing some packet core hardware in Durban which will improve the connectivity. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks r00i, all seems sorted now on my end, noticed when I got home last night speeds and latency was back to normal.

Thanks again iBurst team, well done on fixing the issue so quickly!

I cant seem to go above 60Kbs today on a 2 mb modem.. great.

Im really starting to think something is messing with my signal around my house.

Can anyone from iBurst please assist me. Emails to Helpdesk take days to be responded to. Have an issue that is repeating itself relating to failure to access my website. This occurs on my connection while site is accessible from other locations. If I can get assistance asap please as I rely on my website for my income. Below is a quoted email from my web host:

Thank you for your email.

Your website is pointing to (184.154.227.16) siteground317.com and not to Hetzner's server. The trace indicates that you have high latency on your connection to siteground317.com. I would suggest that you contact your Internet service provider for assistance in rectifying your connection latency.
