*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Agreed that the problem is my side, now if someone at iBurst would take the national secret of the tower locations and send me the tower locations, i can solve my issues by pointing my flat [anels at the tower. I have been with them for years, and the speeds have steadily been going down, to a point where i am currently getting download speeds of 10k/s and 5k/s upload.............give me a break

They are not gonna give you tower locations...All they will offer you is to send an technician out to your place, who will tell you how far you're from the nearest tower...
@Fliflafla, the complaints on this forum, aren't for nothing, there's definitely a tower load problem.
Most problem started when they launched the new packages, they accepted so many new customers, but didn't upgrade their tower, and they never will, because apparently they are now working on a new 4G network...
That's probably why they accepted so many new customers, to get the money together and go ahead with the 4G..

It all depends in what area you stay and how many people are connected to the same tower as you are..
You seem to be lucky and get decent speed, but many of us are unlucky and are basically wasting money on Iburst.
Alas, I'm staying in a poor signal area, so I won't contact Iburst, because their excuse will be the area I stay in...But before the new packages, I used to have a 100% signal and good speeds on a 1Mbs modem, while I'm now not even getting those speeds on a 2Mbs modem....

So yeah, unless they gonna upgrade the towers, or many customers leave Iburst, don't expect any improvements!

Peace out...V

I am unsure what logical reason they would have for not supplying me with a location for the closest tower....and the closest tower may not be my best option as that tower may be overloaded already...I am looking for assistance from the company that is supplying me with a service.....pretty shoddy service if you ask me....

Fantastic work iburst on giving ur clients what they are paying for and not to mention the customer care we are receiving

Dear iBurst (not Melanie).

Please cut our monthly premiums from R694-50 to R231-50 per month (a third of the normal premium) seeing as we have only been getting a third of the speed we actually pay for.

Fair's fair. We are paying for a service we are NOT getting, and don't come with the usual BS that there are no known issues.....
That story got old about 3 months ago already.

One question about this pathetic "speed": can we complain to the CPA about this nonsense?

They cant even sort out the problems they have now how do u think u they gonna be able to do something stupid like chancing a debit order

And yes u can go complain as u are not receiving the service u are paid for

This morning it's crawling along at dial-up speeds.
Seriously IBurst. This is really getting old, and doing a speed test? Forget about it.
Sort out your problems!

Randburg and elsewhere in JHB: this post mirrors my experience exactly. Can't even get speedtest to LOAD!

I'm in Pretoria divv. I have to wonder what cable is going to be blamed now.

Ok I noticing this trend now alot. Before 10 PM my speeds are generally 1/3 of what is should be even with normal downloads. After 10 PM it goes to full speed. Shaping or overloaded tower/network?

This is seriously annoying when I need to get stuff urgently downloaded and im downloading at a slow 30-50kbps.

At this point Diego, I give up. I work for myself and is therefore dependent on a internet connection, which is why I have a 2mb modem, but IBurst really seems to have abandoned ship.

It seems things did take a turn for the worst since yesterday. Everything slowed down to a crawl yesterday in Pretoria, even after midnight, and this morning testing in Joburb, well its the same here. :(

This thread started in 2009... "we are (still) experiencing problems"
:o noswal, and what amazes me, is the IBurst representatives on this board continuously states that there are no problems.
But this thread just keeps on growing.

This is my results for today:
To the people complaining, have it ever crossed your mind that when iburst states that their is no problem at their end, that it is actually true, and the problem is at your end?

Been with Iburst since September 2005 ( also picked up and retained other providers over the years), and have learnt over the years that I should be blaming Iburst first, as it is more often a waste of time double checking my end. I was about to add that the last few months have been problem free, but then realised that it was not so, it is only that my normal response has been one of acceptance and workaround.

With all respect fliflafla, that has never been the case.
Billing problems? - IBurst
Debit order problems? - IBurst
Bandwidth disappearing? - IBurst
The whole youtube debate? - IBurst
Customer care? - IBurst
And unfortunately, if there was a problem on my side I would have picked it up, and I would have been more than happy if that was the case, but as you can see everybody posting here has had a problem since yesterday.
