*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Internet is connected but refuses to do anything.. Dunno wtf is going on here everything is timing out and the only site that even tries to load up is the iburst one which says to me it's an iburst

Exactly the same problem here. According to MWEB support, iBurst is not even yet aware of the issue. Hopefully they know by now.

So...trying to download a 40MB file. After an hour...10 hours left. Less than 2 kB/s. Do I really have to buy a house with a Telkom Line to get any type of internet access?

So the Tech dudes spent a few hours at our place checking signal, testing speeds, more checking and then re-checking.
They also reloaded the firmware on the 2Mb modem, and did more tests and checking and the best speed was 1.55Mb/s.
That is doable for during the day.

But here is a test from now:

Upload speed has more than doubled from what it used to be (this was the firmware reflash that did that according to the tech) and download speeds are still OKish.
Nothing else can be done on our side with regards to antenna direction or anything else, so we will await what iBurst says about the report the Techs have done.

Huge thanks to Melanie for sorting out the Tech visit.

Bursty, there are no known issues.

Ok ok was just trying to get a laugh trololol

I have been struggling to get more than dial up speeds recently :wtf: My phone data is already out of bundle because of having to do stuff on it that I would normally do on my computer. Eish

Anyone else having issues with iBurst today? (Forest Hill tower in JHB)

Modem just keeps blinking/flashing yellow. Can't connect to the interwebz.

EDIT: Back online

Anyone else having problems with international sites tonight? One minute I'll be able to load pretty much anything at normal speeds (i. e., Iburst-slow); a few minutes later "not found" errors, but *only* with international sites: local are normal. Please don't tell me somebody's slashed the cables again ...

I had the same problem, but I found it wasn't all international sites, I could still watch youtube vids and get to my gmail and facebook, but I would loose connection to the EvE Online servers and website

I didn't encounter any problems last night and the offspring was gaming online without issues.

For those in and around Joburg, I'd like to come visit and see these poor speeds you get as I generally do well with my connection.

No need to visit. Just look at the Speedtest results everyone is posting and moaning about......

2Mb modem with external flat panel on a 3 metre high pole above our roof, and this BS so-called "speed" is what we have been sitting with for the last 8 months with no resolution from iBurst's side:

And yes, this test was just done 2 minutes ago..........*insert extremely vulgar words directed at iBurst here*
