Ready, Steady, Cook...

The other half of the red was coleslaw. Any other ideas?

That would stop many threads from cropping up that can all be dealt with here :p

I'll start:
1 green baby cabbage and half a red baby cabbage.
Have most basics and some not so basics.
But I'm not really a big fan of cabbage.
Go!

The other half of the red was coleslaw. Any other ideas?

So since you bought a food type that you obviously do not like, I need to quote Dr Phil here: "What were you thinking???" :D

eisbein with sauerkraut
I had to google that :p
Nope. What else you got?
me'thinks the hobos are about to get some cabbage...

LOL. I don't mind it that much. I've just never cooked it before. And I'm not about to ask my mother how she does it, because I never get an exact recipe and it never comes out the same.
And I like the red cabbage coleslaw!

Bacon and cabbage in the pan. Fry till both are just cooked. Add toasted cashew nuts and cream. Season to taste. Or:

fry off some diced apples and cinnamon, add cabbage and season. Then chuck in some apple cider vinegar and sugar - cook on a low heat for about 20 minutes. Makes a good relish...

Cabbage bredie

Just boil it up with potato, shortrib, cabbage & chicken stock and obviously some spices. Nice.

I do think we have a winner. I have not ever made a stir fry with cabbage; time to do so, I guess :)
Thanks!

Just remember, a stir-fry is quick. Don't overcook the cabbage, you want it to be crunchy.

And for those who want a soft cabbage you cook cabbage strips in a saucepan with a knobby of butter. Or go for a dish called "bubble and squeak" and use oil and subsitute Haalal meat (Macon?) for bacon.

Ideas with recipes :)
So far, have made banitsa, pumpkin pie, and a side dish of roasted pumpkin with caramelised onion, feta and pine nuts.
No soup, thanks; horrid stuff.

Okay I'll give you a choice of three of my favourites then:

Pumpkin and sage ravioli
Pumpkin and rosemary gnocchi
Chicken and pumpkin curry

???

Mmmm Chicken and Pumpkin curry sounds awesome... Please post the recipe.
