Ready, steady, get Firefox

Anything other than IE is cool. So what's your beef with Opera?

Opera and FireFox are cousins. A wall against IE, so there is no problem!

Damn Opera lovers always picking a fight! ;)

Would love to know how much bandwidth they have - if 1M people download it @ 3mb a pop - 3TB!

They have worldwide mirrors AFAIK, including in ZA. The new Opera's cool but I'll still be downloading FF tomorrow. ;)

Its distributed over dozens of mirror nodes around the world. TENET runs 2 of the mirror nodes (in CT and JHB) at http://mozilla.mirror.ac.za/. Many of these kind of mirror servers are connected at 1Gbps or even 10Gbps :D

There's a little fox icon in the quick launch bar, though. ;) (And up at the top too, for some reason.) I guess it's there to browse for help when IE has an aneurysm.

In this business everyone copies everyone. I'm quite sure many feature in Opera come straight out of FF

It's more the other way around, to be fair.

I don't give points for originality, though, Whoever does it best wins.

I like Opera very much, and it's better than FF with no addons... But then who runs FF with no addons? :p The rule with FF is that there's an addon to do everything that IE, Opera, Safari etc can do.

Possibly the only thing Opera intrinsically has over FF is that it's lighter by about 30mb in RAM. Big difference that makes on a modern PC.

Opera 9.5 has a certain sleekness about it....but there are just too many things that annoy me so I'm gonna stick to FF (rc3 atm). Issues with Opera:
-Wheres the built in spellcheck?
-Closing tabs with keyboard shortcuts is arbitrary instead of right to left
-Adblocker sucks
-Mouse pointer does not change when hovering over links
-Link info is not displayed when hovering over links
-etc

Maybe thats trival for some...but those things are deal-breakers for me.
