Yeah thats the normal moz site...but nic777 just said it doesn't count towards the count if you use that.

Should have google for it. World record site.
How do I take part in the record?
It's simple--just download Firefox 3 as soon as it is available, preferably from Download Day Headquarters. You'll get a customized certificate by downloading from Headquarters...
What is Mozilla doing to make sure the record attempt is valid?
Mozilla will only count downloads that are fully and completely transmitted, not partial or complete updates. We will also discard duplicate downloads with the help of a cookie system. We will be logging our downloads using Apache and these logs will be made available for audit to Guinness World Records™, as well as two judges - Corey Shields and Paul Vixie.
What qualifies as an official download of Firefox?
A "download" is the transmission of the entire, fully functioning Firefox 3 -- not an update.
Why don't I believe that website?
dunno... tell us... why don't you believe that website?
I don't believe because Im sure we would have in the first place heard a lot more about this prior to release of firefox 3. Second I don't believe Microsoft would abandon one of their products that is still probably the most popular browser worldwide for an open source project that they stand to gain nothing out of.
Well, its the 17'th and 3:06Am and no Firefox download yet!? Did they say in what timezone the 17'th is?
Nervermind!!!
Just an update. Apparently the release will occur at 10am Pacific Daylight Time, which is UTC-7, and so 7pm South African time if my maths is correct...
Found this somewhere on the internet
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit enter. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
NOTE: this trick only works for broadband users not for dialup.
Just be aware that a lot of webmasters / site owners don't like you doing that. It puts a lot more strain on their servers.
You wont. The webservers willI have been using this for about 2 hours now. Have not seen any problems yet.
