Rear foglights driving thread

That is what I would say - and I run with dims and fogs so that halfwits can see me on the roads... ;) :p

Well, its sound like he is saying many BMW drivers drive with bights on during the day and I must say I have noticed that.

And no problem with your front fogs... but what about your rear ones?

I would never use rear ones anyway, as I find them incredibly irritating. Subaru doesn't have rear fogs, but on my Jetta, they only go on in very heavy rain and dense mist, which is not that often! :)
 
Glad to see a discussion like this.

This is a real peev for myself & many people, the big question is.

How does one alert the "Insert profanity" in front of you that their rear fogs are on?

Its because the indicator stalk is pulled back (towards you) into the brights position. With it in that position you will notice little difference when driving in daylight and using the indicators. Just unengage it by pushing the stalk forward.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's sorted. You pull the indicator stalk backwards twice and that toggles between brights on and off, the same action is used for switching them on or off. That's how it works on the Fiesta.

Pleasure. Often forget when switching between my Figo and Ikon, prefer the Ikons method (push forward to engage and disengage, pull back to flash)
 
Saw a +- 2007 Black Ford Focus today with rear fogs on, but I didn't catch the registration number
 
Then there's this guy. Broad daylight, rear fogs on. uploadfromtaptalk1407093078444.jpg
They're the 2 inside lights. The outer are the brake lights.
 
Last night I was behind an A4, crazy LED Type rear fogs. Didnt get the reg.
I politely flashed, no response, then gave the guy full on brights.

He amazingly acknowledged & switched them off,
 
I had a guy tailgate me on a suburban road. After about 500m I actually turned on my rear fogs and he then backed off, and followed a safe distance behind me, at which point I turned them off. Rear fogs do sometimes come in handy
 
Remember Grey BMW 550i - DYV 099 FS from my OP? Was behind him again, this time going to work and still loving his rear fog lights, last time was when going home.
 
Does the rear fogs not switch off when the car is restarted and have to be manually switched back on? On my car if I forget to switch the fogs off it does not go on automatically the next time I start the car.

I have a Citroen with auto lights and DRL. I have to turn the stalk once forward for front fogs and again for rear fogs. It's not a switch that stays in the on position. After turning the stalk it goes back to the normal position.

This is the thing, guys are Manually activating them!

With BMW's this is the case. There is no permanent on position for fog lights - you have to manually switch them on every single time you start your car.
 
So this was all during a 7km drive to gym last night:

These single rear fogs are not that bad, but still unacceptable

Then there's this dude, I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

That's right folks... Toyota camry's have twin, focused, kuk bright, mofo rear fogs!


Then... This morning, this guy must think he looks so cool...

Can you see how much brighter the rear fog is compared to the brake lights?
Even in broad daylight
 
More of a way to blow off steam about it I would think. Don't want someone to snap over fog lights after all!
 
The funniest thing on earth regarding foglights...

The one headlight has blown, and the opposite side's foglamp has blown.
What's ironic about it, is that I've mostly seen this on more expensive cars. Don't they have money to replace the bulbs?
