Rear foglights driving thread

Funny that you quote this today, last night I saw someone in a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, again, a car with auto headlights and yet nothing but DRLs at night.

Some special individuals out there.
 
BMW rear fog lights are an absolute pain! They make sense in Europe, but the problem is around these parts they are used incorrectly.

Some people purposely put every single light on especially on BMW and VW, I’ve seen a BMW 235i Sedan, Polo GTI, VW Golf 7.5 GTI and 8 GTI having all lights (incl. rear fogs and excl. indicators and reverse light of course) all on during a bright sunny day with not a single cloud in the sky on William Nicol, lol. :ROFL:

Here in the UK; people will only put them on when there is fog and it has to be heavy fog. Drove through a lot of fog the other week and only a few cars put them on. Otherwise it's super rare to see anyone using the fogs.
 
It's easy to forget your fog lights on when you have gone through a long stretch of fog. My fog light button is also out of sight from the angle where I sit. I use it often though when travelling to Hilton as that road gets quite hectic and thick fog at times. But I don't forget my fog lights on. I know @supersunbird is watching.

Thanks to this thread I discovered my car has a rear fog light button. Had to go look for it. This has been a life changer to me and a life irritation to others.

It’s because regulations state fog lights must only come on with headlights. You cannot have fogs on without headlights.

So switches have been designed that’s it’s not possible to turn rear fogs on without your headlights.

So in cars like my 2016 Seat; I can’t turn them on without the headlights.

Many (most?) cars can activate the foglights if their park lights are on, not headlights. So they can be doubly illegal!

Read what I said again. I specifically mentioned rear fogs. Those can’t be turned on without turning on headlights.
