I haven't read the article but are you saying the issues raised there no longer plague vista? or the cost has decreased to such a level it makes the article irrelevant?

Or is there some other reason you are using to disregard the article because it it is old?

Works both ways - more reasons could possibly have been found in the ensuing months?

also SP1 might actually add to the link's viewpoint. Would be nice to know why because it is a 2007 article killadoob feels we should disregard it.

ag... seems to be the new thing to do.

bash vista.

funny thing is almost everyone i know who uses vista, the fact that i have three machines running vista have yet to run into anything that frustrates me.

since sp1 vista has matured and exceeded what xp can ever be. also there are tonnes of fixes and updates one receives via auto-update. i use a genuine version of vista so perhaps that makes a difference - not that i bought it. helps when m$ is a client :)

except for repairing a broken x-box :/

What bugs about Vista is...it does not trust me at all (not that it should :p). It has all this stuff - HFS HDCP HDMI and IDONTKNOW WHATELESE - all that bloated add-ons just to "Protect Premium* Content".

It bugs me. Even though I don't have a HD Screen or Premium* Content .... yet :D :p :D

Vista has sucked since the day it got released. Heck, even the beta versions sucked. The calculator didn't even work back then (Who's ever seen an Ubuntu beta that useless)
Now that SP1 is out, I've heard even more complaints about it. Face it. Vista is somewhat of a huge problem. Retail stores have had businessmen come it with their brand new laptops and ask to downgrade (in my opinion upgrade) to XP. Simply because Vista still doesn't run everything it should, especially when it comes to professional applications.
And the problems continue. Rather stick to XP...

i think the only thing that bugged me about vista is this -

windows folder on my c drive is: 13.8Gb <-- now thats bloat

and of course UAC which i know can be turned off but then you run into probs later.

I think Apple iTunes and Vista are the biggest bloat software culprits.

How big is iTunes these days? like 50Mb just to keep my ipod synced. sad :/

When I still used Windows I used MediaMonkey for my Ipod business. Really loads better than iTunes.

Damn dude. Your peecee must have been running the same speed as the stone ages. You should do that as often as you take a shower, really. Especially if you browse the web often, play music often (evidently) and so-on.
