Rebuilding the itunes db

Hello all,

I have an odd issue: Apple TV (the new one) + shared music library in iTunes on my MBP. Only a handful of albums show up on the AppleTV. In iTunes, all my music show - there are no missing files or anything. Has anyone seen this?

I suspected something to do with the itunes library database. To test this, I copied my music over to my MBA (sans the itunes files), and then imported the lot into a never-before used iTunes. Shared that and the ATV picks up the lot. So that confirms my suspicion.

Does anyone know how to get iTunes to re-read my audio files (in an iTunes managed folder) and build a new library?

Nope, it's all local, ripped from my CDs, with maybe a dozen albums bought from iTunes. The selection that does show up on the ATV is a pretty random mix of both, which is why I suspect a problem with the library.
