Recall a Message in MS Outlook: Does it ever work?

If there is a special set of circumstances where it does work please tell me.
This feature has never worked for me.:confused:
 
Of course it works. It just sends a message saying that you would like to recall this other message ;)
 
On Exchange - deleted message if unopened,if opened it requests deletion
On anything else - sends email saying you attempted to recall the message
 
So... what did you send that you should not have sent? Did you send an email insulting the client to the client instead of your boss?
 
Actually it was a 15MB technical email for my work which I sent to a friend by mistake.
The poor guy is traveling so I probably clogged his box for a month!
 
Yeah. Works the best with Exchange.

And also if the recipient(s) haven't opened any email(s)...

If the person has Outlook rules running to sort their mail into other folders, the recall also doesn't work automatically.
 
To people outside of your organisation it makes you look even more stupid than the original email sent in err.
