Recomended Unifi Controller Server

If you only have 1 AP and you not using Captive portal etc then just don't run a controller, it works fine.

Mine runs in a FreeNAS jail on my NAS, the ports are a bit behind the latest version (as there is no native freebsd build) but not by too much.

You could create a bhyve Vm running Ubuntu...

Anyone upgrade to the new version 5.10.24-11676-1 yet?

Is it stable?
Updated recently. If you are running 2.4Ghz wireless clients and have Auto Optimize Network enabled, you may pick up connectivity issues with older wireless devices.
The solution is to disable Auto optimize Network.

Why all this hassle to run the controller?

Either use your phone....or set and forget.

There is no need to run the controller 24/7 and especially not for only one AP.

I the linuxserver docker container at my parents house on a RPi and run mine in a ubuntu server VM on proxmox.

I haven't had any issues (other than the ones UBNT have created).

Have a look at running Open Media Vault (with docker addon) on a Rpi 3B+.

Running mine on Docker happily on UnRAID.

But for going super lightweight a Pi should be fine.

Just don't auto-update the Java

UniFi Network Controller 5.11.26 Unstable

Running it with AI and works like a charm on my Ubuntu HP microserver

5.10 is the stable release and 5.11 is the unstable, however I can honestly say I have had no problems with this unstable release. 5.11.29 is now out but I have remained on 26 as it works well for me.
