Recommend a reliable auto hatch (R100k)

Hey guys

With my little guy arriving soon and my wife no longer wanting to drive manual (after I got an auto), I'm looking to replace her Getz with another small hatchback for around R100k

Must be automatic
Must be economical
Must have ISOFIX mounts
Bluetooth is a plus!

So far I have been looking at:
Previous gen Kia Picanto EX
Mk1 i20
Pre-facelift i10 grand (quite a bit over my budget though)

Already got the car seat and base for my car so thinking of just getting a 2nd one for hers :)
I actually had one of these previously and the wife loved driving it.
Gave me no issues but was really boring to drive.
 
Maybe you can find a VW UP! in that price range. Its got a 5star euro ncap rating IIRC.

Edit: My bad, I could not find an automatic UP. Epic little car though

Also something to consider is road culture in SA, where depending on the car you drive you are either given way or treated like sh*t. I drove the rental i10 and people force you into an accident by disrespecting your presence on the road so keep that in mind as well. Star rating shouldnt be the only factor when it comes to safety on the road.

Reality is that, not everyone can afford large cars that command larger presence.. Even in my mid size SUV, people disrespect my presence..

If you are a careful and pay attention on the road, you can avoid being forced off the road or into dangerous situations for the most part..

If you need a car and can only afford small, you can eat least ensure it's as safe as can be in an accident..

OP is in Cape Town.

He can join the rest of the Picanto and i10 crew hogging the far right lane. Safety in numbers.
 
My SO drives a previous gen Picanto 1.2 auto. In 2017 they couldn't be found for less than R150k. Decent city car, lots of features, easy parking and so on. Definitely not fun on the open road, putting your foot down hard is a suggestion to it and overtaking needs to be carefully considered.
 
I'm not sure when ISOFIX was fitted to the Jazz.
That would my recommendation.

My wifes commute is only 10km in traffic so a lack of power is not an issue
 
Just as I was about to sell my wife's Getz, my A3 decides to throw R50k worth of mechatronics damage at me.
With my warranty covering less than half of that, wifey is going to have to wait for her upgrade... :crying:
